Thank you !!
Thank you to the many SoRo individuals who give freely of their time and talents to make our neighbourhood a wonderful place to live! Everyone is welcome to share their ideas and contribute towards making SoRo a safe and fun place to live.
Thank you to our generous local businesses who have donated cash, product and food to our community events and initiatives. We are most grateful for your support! Check out the details below and be sure to also visit our Local Business Directory.
Thank you to the City of Pickering for their ongoing support and a positive and enriching partnership with our community of South Rosebank.
City of pickering
We are most appreciative of the City’s support and partnership for our community pollinator garden and Rosebank bridge flower boxes and many many other services they provide.
It was the City’s ‘Celebrating Sustainable Communities’ program that was the impetus for the launch of SoRo Good Neighbours in 2013. We were thrilled to win the $10,000 community grant in 2018 which provided the opportunity to plant more native shade trees and to create more seating in Rick Hull Park.
SoRo Good Neighbours Branded Tent
Thank you to SoRo individuals, Family Fun Day Committee and three local companies who donated the funds in 2018 to purchase our branded tent and tablecloths:
SORO FAMILY FUN DAY
This day long event requires many SoRo volunteers to plan and execute. We are grateful for the baking and silent auction donations from a wide variety of sources and also to these local businesses:
Fox Goes Free for donating their bbq and time to serve hamburgers and hot dogs to participants.
Blaisdale Montessori for providing their beautiful property to host the event.
SoRo Community Art
No project is done with out many people and businesses who contribute time, money and products to make it happen. Thank you to the many SoRo volunteers who collected, sorted, cut and installed hundreds of plastic lids and containers to create the finished pixels for installation of our colourful and kinetic SoRo Butterfly art on the tennis court fence.
Thank you as well to:
Home Depot Pickering for generously donating recycle bins for collecting lids and zip ties for hanging the art pixels.
Customers and staff of Tianos Organics for promoting the collection of lids and for the generous donation of ‘Flow’ spring water at our unveiling event.
The staff and residents of Abbeylawn Manor for providing assistance and use of their patio for volunteers to cut and shape the lids.
CELEBRATING SOUTH ROSEBANK
Thank you to the many local businesses for their generous donations of cash and door prizes to this dynamic 2016 event:
